HOLY COW!!!!! I think I figured it out! SO when I would start the sound blaster app a dialog box would pop up saying the device wasn't detected but the Sound Blaster Z app, albeit missing almost all the option buttons, would show with a volume slider. Now, after changing my CPU and motherboard, the sound works in Windows, but still have the speaker config issue and can't get the Sound Blaster app to recognize the card at all now no matter what I do. If it wasn't for that fact, I'd ditch the Sound Blaster Z app entirely, but I need it to get my speakers set properly. I have a text to speech app I use as well that exhibits the same behavior, I can hear it mumbling very low like the front speakers are really some rear speakers but can't understand a word of what's read. If I don't do that, I can't get true 2 speaker stereo audio.

The weird thing is, even when I set the speakers back to full range front stereo in windows settings, while most all the sound works fine, like in games and whatnot, Youtube videos will still try to play audio through the none existent back speakers until I go into the Sound Blaster Z app and also set that to stereo from 5.1 surround. When the speakers get set to 5.1 surround, I have to go into Windows sound settings and set them back to stereo front right and left full range speakers but HEARS the weird thing (see what I did there XP).

I suppose I need to turn off Win 10 auto update or screen the updates better before installing but I digress. I'm only using stereo speakers, to a major problem for me with this is that whenever Windows 10 auto updates, if there was some sound update included, it defaults my speaker config back to 5.1 surround. Thing is, my sound card is working, I have sound and can change settings and test under the sound settings in Win 10.

Then make sure you have the latest version of the driver and app, I think it's 'SBZ_CD_L13_1_01_11.exe' but you'll probably want to double check that.

I suggest completely uninstall the drivers including the software with the little check box during uninstall. I believe, not to long ago, it was acting up and all I had to do was unplug the speakers and plug them in again and the app started working, though that was the first time I ever tried that solution. The solution was to completely uninstall the sound blaster drivers and app and then reinstall and that would get it working again. The issue with the app not recognizing the card is a bit strange, as I said, it worked before I upgraded but whenever I updated drivers or had windows auto configure certain hardware it would start acting up again. That issue seems to have gone away with the later versions of the drivers and app. If I remember correctly the card used to not initialize sometimes and that problem existed from almost day one I bought it. If memory serves correctly though, I've always had some issues with the Sound Blaster Z app from almost day one.

Before I upgraded it was working fine for the most part.

I had it working though, until I just recently upgrade my motherboard and CPU while keeping the same Windows install. Card is connected and showing a bright red light indicating its getting power and recognized by mother board.Īttached some images of my control panel showing the card controller and displaying the controller as working properly.ĭesperate here as I keep hitting a wall and havent seen solutions out on the web with my same scenario. No Speakers shown in my Sound Control Settings playback devices list. They do work if i plug the audio cable straight into my phone, the speakers work amazingly. My brand new Logitech Z623 speakers are useless devices at this point. My video card is the only device that has working audio output, with my monitor speakers(since its connecting to my video card DisplayPort) only source of audio I do have, which is pretty lame quality. I get a similar error when I previously had SoundBlaster software installed(before uninstalling for a troubleshooting attempt), and it tells me "the current selected audio device is disabled, not present, not supported by the application, or has unplugged jack connections." Cant pin point what exact update I can eliminate to test if it will get it working again.Īs of now, when I download the latest Creative SoundBlaster software it tells me "Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system." Basically cant get speaker functionality now after what seems to have been corrupted by a recent Windows 10 auto update. Seems to be a ton of different problems around this similar setup. I seem to have a common issue after reading my google search results for the past couple hours, with this windows 10 compatability issue with Logitech/Creative soundcards/drivers.
